A Legend about Krishna tells that as a small boy playing in his garden with peacocks, a boon (a foretelling) was told to the King that Krishna would take over, so the King sent a snake to poison Krishna. The peacocks loved Krishna and protected him, swallowing the venom unaffected. Investigating this I found that peacocks can eat poisonous plants and snakes if they are well, they transform it into nourishment, I was surprised to discover that we too can ingest venom if we have healthy intestines with no perforations and it does not enter our blood stream! This held a strong symbolic message : the spirit of a creature able to digest life’s poisons and transform them into something good is surely a valuable one to emulate and that this is only possible when we are healthy on the inside. This process of inner transformation is Yoga , it transforms our whole system affecting our overall sense of physical and mental well-being and spiritual buoyancy, helping us to discover our own inner light and from this place we can digest and transform even life’s poisons into the most positive outcome.

The word "Mayur" means peacock in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit where these creatures were considered sacred. Although Yoga is sometimes thought of as a rather mystical subject, it is a very practical guide for transformation of mind, body and soul.
