I was fortunate to be accepted at triyoga London, one of Europe's top teacher-training programmes. I graduated in 2017 after two years of intense study in the fields of asana (posture), philosophy, anatomy, alignment and breath. My internationally acclaimed teachers included Carlos Pomeda, Mimi Kuo-Deemer and Jeannie Hall. I integrate many elements of yoga into my teaching, using it in everyday studies and PE lessons. The beneficial impact on the classroom environment, the children’s inter-personal relationships and general wellbeing, has been evident. Parents have commented on how their children sleep better, are more attentive and more able to concentrate.
Having trained as a dancer, I discovered yoga about eleven years ago as therapy for a back injury. I was amazed by my physical and mental transformation, and fell in love with the practice. By that time I was working as a primary school teacher, so with my busy London life I combined a dedicated practice to yoga, with dance and Pilates, but found it was yoga that made me feel calmer, more grounded and free in my body.
