Opened in 2004 by Abigail Heath with the help of her friend Alex Kennedy and local catering student Paul Meakin, the cafe was initially opened with the intention of providing freshly made sandwiches, cakes, snacks and coffees for customers to takeaway, with a small seating area for those who wanted to sit in and eat.
