Clinical massage uses a combination of advanced bodywork techniques to achieve a specific outcome. Techniques such as Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, Deep Forearm, Hot & Cold Stones, Acupressure and Sports Stretching aim to eliminate/reduce pain and increase range of movement within 6 sessions. (The number of sessions may vary depending on the problem).

Freedom Therapies holistic clinic was established in 2002 by Anna Gatland. Anna has been practising complementary therapies since 1998 when she had her first Reiki attunement and from then knew she wanted to help others make positive change in their life. She studied with Thai Buddhist monks in Thailand in 1999 and worked in a retreat centre in California as the on-site therapist whilst she travelled and lived abroad. Prior to that Anna had been working in London for a variety of corporations from the media to banks.

My complementary therapies include Sound Healing, Shamanic Healing, Soul Retrieval and Healing, Systematic Kinesiology, Reflexology, Crystal Therapy, Assemblage Point Healing, Hypnotherapy and Indian Head Massage. I work holistically, treating the whole person to balance and maintain well being. As a fully qualified and experienced therapist and teacher, I continually update and develop my skills and knowledge.

Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being. It is also the oldest known healing art preceding all orthodox medicine and other complementary therapies.

I am based in Portsmouth, Hampshire and have been established since 1995. Originally specialising in Sports Massage, I saw the potential to treat people who suffer with clinical and chronic pain conditions using specialist massage therapies. People who have perhaps lived with pain for months or years, and never been able to find a release from other professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropractors or osteopaths.
