We are a small animal veterinary practice, with branches in Alsager, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Sandbach. First established in the 1950’s for large animal, the small animal practice was established in the 1960’s and became part of the CVS family in 2007.

The practice was started by a Mr Wagstaff in the early years of the century, based in Church Street West, opposite Hadfields the chemist. During 1928, Wagstaff fell ill and employed Alan Wright as a locum, with Alan taking over the practice when his boss sadly died shortly afterwards.

We are a modern, family run, practice with traditional values but up to date treatments. We treat your pet as we would treat our own. Our veterinary team are constantly improving their skill base and knowledge through training and we have several vets with Advanced Practitioner status recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons.

We are pleased to offer a full range of equine veterinary services, from routine vaccinations to specialised surgery. Our experienced ambulatory vets travel throughout Cheshire and the surrounding areas on a daily basis to visit and examine horses at home. For more complex conditions, horses may be brought to our purpose built Hospital for further diagnostic and treatment.
