Building Associates was established over a quarter of a century ago. From our base in Bexley, we operate as a main building contractor, with our customer’s base being of both Public Sector and Private Sector including education, housing, leisure, health, commercial and public services.

We predominantly carry out the supply and installation of drywall partitioning, suspended ceiling, bespoke glass system partitioning, timber doors and associated joinery items for Main Contractors and also direct for end user Clients.

Single storey extensions are probably the archetype house extension, often in the past, it was a simple flat roofed box usually on the rear or side of the house. This has to some extent changed over the last decade or so with an increasing preference for pitched roofs partly due to a perceived improved appearance and partly due to greater longevity. Ironically this has happened at a time when some architects have designed some 'cutting edge' house extensions with flat roofs and roofing technology has improved significantly such that a good flat roof should have a long life

Our in-house team has utilised the full range of modern methods to combat any problem area requiring repair or restoration to both Grade I & II listed or historic buildings, working alongside English Heritage, and contemporary projects.

We never hire a subcontractor to do the structural work — instead we handle it all ourselves. We have a wealth of knowledge in structural engineering and are entirely familiar with works ‘on the shell’ so as a result we are able to keep prices low. We can also assist with architectural drawings, external and internal designs (including 3G), structural calculations, planning applications, landscape design and many other elements besides.

We carry out all types of demolition involving every conceivable structure from medium-rise office blocks to schools, hospitals, cinemas, infrastructure projects and residential accommodation. Our Licensed Asbestos Division provides removal, disposal and management planning services to assist dutyholders with their responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

AFJ Joinery is run by self employed tradesman Andy James. Services Include joinery, renovation works, kitchens and bathrooms, garage conversions and building alterations. Our intentions are to deliver a comprehensive service to business and domestic customers, and we strive to provide excellent workmanship at competitive rates.
