Midland Gas & Plumbing was started by Mr G. H. Walker nearly 25 years ago. The son of a blacksmith and a welder, he served in the military for 10 years before becoming an engineer/ toolmaker and owner of his own engineering firm, whilst at the same time becoming a partner of a sprinkler fitting company. His brother John was an experienced and skilled miller whilst his brother-in-law was an experienced electrician with his own contracting firm.
