TW Gaze was established in 1857 by the eponymous Thomas William as a firm of agricultural valuers and auctioneers and evolved over 150 years to reflect changes in the rural way of life generally, and farming in particular. Therefore, gone are the livestock markets which were at the heart of the social and business life of the rural community for so long. Instead we have chattels auctions which still provide a forum for mixing business with pleasure on market days, residential and commercial agencies and the old core of rural valuation, management, farm and land agency.

Durrants have been providing residential, agricultural and commercial property expertise since 1853. We have branches in Suffolk and Norfolk at Beccles, Diss, Halesworth, Harleston and Southwold.

We deal in rural property matters including estate agency and lettings, land and farm sales, professional consultancy and valuations, the sale of agricultural machinery and plant, development and commercial property, and estate management. We also have our own Auction Centre at Campsea Ashe, Suffolk, that holds weekly general sales and numerous other special sales throughout the year.

We were formed by the merger of two long-standing Suffolk businesses, Lacy Scott of Bury St Edmunds and RC Knight & Sons of Stowmarket, both established in the 1800s. The two companies developed strong links with the local community, each running a livestock market in their respective town. Lacy Scott & Knight is a Limited Liability Partnership.
