David Smales Upholstery is an independent, family run reupholstering specialist based in Skidby, near Cottingham. Since establishing in 1981, we have provided a personal, thorough service to all manner of commercial and domestic clients. We have reliably repaired and re-covered furniture for hotels, pubs, schools, local authorities and much more.

Julian began his career as an upholsterer in 1972 in Birmingham, working for his father's business - an established upholstery firm that valued traditional aesthetics. From a family of upholsterers, seamstresses and frame-makers, his care and attention to detail is evident in all the work he undertakes, from commercial work to private, and from crafting bespoke furniture to pristinely restoring existing pieces.
