The Sunshine Day Nursery is a family run business which was first established in October 2001. Our main venue on O’Neill Drive was the first nursery to open its doors. Then in 2003 the business branched off, and we now have three very highly regarded nurseries in the local area: Sunshine Day Nursery, Seascape Children’s Centre & Dene House Nursery.

Our setting is registered for 169 children and provides excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. Our building is a two storey building and is conveniently situated in Newton Hall, Durham. The nursery is easily accessible from across Durham and the surrounding villages and has good links to the A1 for those travelling from further afield.
We are situated in a charming old coach house in the Ashbrooke conservation area of Sunderland. It is half a mile from the city centre, bus and train stations. Briery Kindergarten is regulated and inspected under the Children Act by Ofsted and our practises, policies and procedures are in accordance with current standards.
Playday Nursery is a well established childcare provider in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, England. We provide complete childcare from 6 weeks to 5 years. We are delighted to announce that we were graded as an "Outstanding" nursery after our Ofsted inspection in September 2016.
Due to the increasing number of local Nursery's now offering "Free" childcare to 2-5 year olds and some also offering sessional sessions, the numbers of children registering with Playgroup has gradually fallen over the past couple of years, whilst the numbers of children registered with Playgroup this year has been steady the actual number of sessions taken has been too low to allow us to pay our way.
