Wooler Golf Club is situated just off the B6525 Wooler to Berwick road, at the village of Doddington, some 3 miles North East of Wooler. This 9 hole 18 tee, par 72 course occupies the high ground known as Dod Law.

In 1927 two business men founded Ponteland Golf Club. They bought just enough land to build a 9 hole course which served the local community for 4 years. In 1931 more land was bought and another 9 holes added to create a full 18 hole course. At that time, the Club house was just a wooden hut. In 1937 a permanent Club house was built which today still stands proudly overlooking the final hole and 1st tee.
