Apart from ‘The Great British Tradition’ we also serve other fish classics such as fishcakes, scampi, fish pie and homemade dishes like steak pie, chilli con carne and burgers.

We bought Belmont Bridge Fisheries at Swadford Street in 1986 and began serving really good takeaway fish & chips. In 1989, we extended and modernised the premises to provide a first class traditional fish and chip restaurant and takeaway.

We have been trading independently as a successful family fishmonger in Bradford for over 100 years and during that time we have become renowned for quality.

Billy Murgatroyd in his day was known to all residents of Yeadon as ‘Billy Murg.’ He was an enterprising man who helped put Yeadon as a town on the map in the 1870’s. As the fearsome owner of Moorfield Mill, on the site of the present restaurant, blunt Billy’s sayings were famous throughout the region, he once said in a courtroom,

Keeping with the Great British tradition. Our Fish and Chip shop, located at the back of our restaurant in Colne, offers an ‘Old school’ traditional takeaway menu centred on our Famous Original Recipe Haddock and Chips. Perfect for a lunchtime or a chippy tea!
