J L McAteer’s is an independent optician’s practice situated close to the de Courcy Centre, in the centre of Carrickfergus. In April 2018, we celebrated 35 years in business. Lynne McAteer, who qualified as an ophthalmic optician from Manchester University, started trading in Carrickfergus on 6th April 1983. She has over 40 years experience working as an optometrist.

Discreet Hearing Associates was formed in 1999 to provide a truly high quality local, independent and affordable alternative to higher priced national organisations. This formula was an instant success as we have grown to 20 test centres across Northern Ireland.
