From Portsmouth you can then take a ferry/hovercraft to the Isle of wight. Upper Mount House was built in 1851 by our famous local architect Thomas Owen, known locally as "Thomas Owen Southsea". We are very proud to share this unique building with all our guests.

The Britannia Guest House has seven bedrooms, four are ensuite, and offers excellent flexibility for small family groups. There is one single room with adjacent bathroom that can be combined with a family or remain separate for single occupancy.

The name ‘Trevarner’ is Cornish, translated it means ‘Home of a Mariner’ and it reflects our Cornish roots and interests in all things maritime, from Lobster fishing in Cornwall through to sailing yachts and small dinghy sailing here on the Solent.
